چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims Kidney biopsy may improve diagnostic accuracy aid in the management of cancer patients with kidney diseases. However, literature on utility survivors is lacking. We aimed to evaluate clinical characteristics who underwent biopsy, as well histological spectrum proven diseases this cohort. Method This was a single-center retrospective study all had native biopsies at Singapore General Hospital between 1st October 2015 31st December 2022. Demographic, clinical, laboratory data were retrieved from electronic medical records identify solid-organ or hematological malignancies biopsy. Results Out 1208 2022, 116 (9.6%) diagnoses malignancies. Approximately two-thirds (79/116; 68.1%) malignancies, which 21.5% metastatic disease time one-third (36/116; 31.0%) 10 (8.6%) stem-cell transplant (HSCT). One (0.9%) patient both Sixty-eight (58.6%) remission comprising 52 (44.8%) 16 (13.8%) solid -organ respectively. Median age 65.7 years (IQR 56.5, 71.4) majority female (61/116; 52.6%). Comorbidities hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, autoimmunity, liver found 36.2% (42/116), 23.3% (27/116), 8.6% (10/116) 1.7% (2/116) serum creatinine 152.0μmol/L 101.8, 220.5). Micro-hematuria present approximately (68.1%) patients. Nephrotic range proteinuria nephrotic syndrome observed one-quarter (25.9%) (31.0%) patients, half (49.1%) acute injury while one-fifth (19.8%) progressive chronic disease. A wide observed. Glomerulonephritides, tubulointerstitial inflammation and/or glomerular endothelial injuries diagnosed 60.8% (48/79) 80.6% (29/37) Amongst active (n = 20), nephritis (ATIN) (5/20, 25.0%), IgA nephropathy (3/20; 15.0%) lupus most common primary diagnoses. 17), dysproteinemic leukemic infiltration frequently (6/17; 35.9%). Compared status, malignancy not associated an increased likelihood overall diagnosis glomerulonephritides, (p 0.16). Specifically, incidence membranous similar those 0.42). HSCT, thrombotic microangiopathy (40.0%) frequently. Overall, onco-therapeutics-related 13 (11.2%) ATIN (38.4%) commonly encountered, followed by (30.7%). Conclusion provides valuable information amongst While broad can be observed, remain common.

متن کاملThe Natural Course of Biopsy-Proven Isolated Microscopic Hematuria: a Single Center Experience of 350 Patients
The increasing interest in healthcare and health screening events is revealing additional cases of asymptomatic isolated microscopic hematuria (IMH). However, a consensus of the evaluation and explanation of the IMH prognosis is controversial among physicians. Here, we present the natural course of IMH together with the pathological diagnosis and features to provide supportive data when approac...
متن کاملDiagnostic utility of kidney biopsy in patients with sarcoidosis and acute kidney injury
BACKGROUND Sarcoidosis is an idiopathic multisystem disease characterized by noncaseating granulomatous inflammation. Renal biopsy is often performed to evaluate the patient with sarcoidosis and acute kidney injury (AKI). Diagnosis rests on the demonstration of noncaseating granulomas and exclusion of other causes of granulomatous inflammation. This paper reports a patient with pulmonary sarcoi...

Background Renal biopsies performed in diabetic patients are increasing and becoming more complex. Comprehensive data on modern spectrum of biopsy-proven renal disease in Chinese diabetic patients are lacking. Methods In a nationwide renal biopsy survey including 71,151 native biopsies from 2004 to 2014, diabetic patients were identified according to the clinical diagnosis from referral recor...
